FAQ

Questions We Get Before Booking

The most common things golfers ask before and after a fitting session, answered straight.

What does "apex height" and "hang time" actually mean?

Apex height is how high the ball climbs at the peak of its flight, and hang time is how long it stays in the air. Together they describe the shape of your flight window — and how well that window holds up once wind gets added, which a single carry-distance number can't tell you.

Do I need to be a good golfer to get fit?

Not at all. Fitting benefits golfers at every skill level — higher-handicap golfers often see the biggest gains, since off-the-rack clubs rarely account for slower swing speeds or the wind conditions specific to island golf.

How long does a fitting session take?

Single-club fittings (driver, fairway wood, hybrid, wedge, or putter) run 45–60 minutes. Iron set fittings run 60–90 minutes. A full bag assessment covering every club typically takes 2–3 hours.

Do I have to buy clubs after my fitting?

No. There's never any obligation to purchase. You'll receive a full written flight report with our recommendations and can decide later. If you do order, your fitting fee is credited in full toward the purchase.

How do you actually test wind if the bay is indoors?

We layer a simulated crosswind and headwind load onto the launch monitor data captured for every swing, so comparisons between clubs and specs show how each performs under load — not just how it flew in dead-calm air.

What should I bring to my session?

Bring your current clubs relevant to the fitting, the shoes you normally wear to play, and a rough sense of your typical scores or handicap if you know it.

How long does it take to receive my new clubs after ordering?

Most builds are completed in-house within one week of ordering, since we stock components and build on-site rather than sending orders to an outside factory queue.

Do you fit left-handed golfers?

Yes. Our gear wall includes left-handed heads across every major category, and our launch monitor setup works identically for right- and left-handed golfers.

Do you offer follow-up adjustments after a build?

Yes. Any loft, lie, or length adjustment needed within 30 days of a build is included at no additional charge, as your swing settles into the new equipment.

What areas do you serve?

Our studio is located on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and we regularly serve golfers from Bluffton, Beaufort, and Sun City in addition to the island itself.
